The spoke is dedicated to the science and technology of nanostructured materials and their applications in innovative devices. Nanomaterials are made up of particles or aggregates of extremely small dimensions, between 1 and 100 nanometers (nm) and, thanks to their reduced dimensionality, they present physical, chemical, electrical and mechanical properties particularly suitable for multiple uses. The main objective of the project is to carry out a research activity aimed at supporting the Innovation Ecosystem strategy for the development plan of the Umbria Region, through the creation of a new technological park – POLO NANOMAT – where the research regarding nanomaterials will be carried out in close contact with companies and where the birth of original spin-offs and start-ups is expected.

The establishment of the hub is planned in the municipality of Nocera Umbra.
